National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA)
The Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) National Emergency Authority (NEMA) coordinates and integrates all organizations responsible for home-front defense during emergency scenarios. The authority was established in December 2007, based on lessons learned during the Second Lebanon War.

NEMA is an important tool that enables the Minister of Defense to manage and coordinate responses to emergency situations in the civil sphere. It accomplishes this by planning, coordinating, and directing all national and local authorities involved in emergency scenario preparation and educating civilians on the subject.
