Planning Department
The Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) Planning Department leads the systematic staff work for policy formulation, decision-making, and optimal resource utilization through planning, organization, monitoring, and economic analysis. This enables the Ministry of Defense to fulfill its mission.

The department consists of several units: the Integrated Planning Unit (which includes the Planning Unit, Projects and Budget Unit, Service and Quality Management Unit, and IMOD Directives Division), the Organization Unit, the Chief Economist for the Defense System, the Supervisor of State and Internal Audit Affairs, the Advisory and External Manpower Unit for the IMOD and IDF, and the IDF Civilian Employees Unit.
The Planning Department's main responsibilities include leading the integrative and inter-departmental planning process for the Ministry of Defense, managing annual and multi-year work plans, leading cross-organizational missions and projects, and managing all organizational resources and ministerial staffing.
It examines and approves engagements with consultants and external personnel, drives economic analysis and innovation processes, coordinates industries and corporations under Ministry responsibility, develops service quality initiatives, handles State Comptroller and Defense System audits, and manages Ministry of Defense directives.
