A Milestone in the Israel-Czech Defense Partnership
20/9/2026

This week, at NATO Days, one of Europe's largest defense and security events, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems SPYDER air defense system was delivered to the Czech Republic.
With its selection of the system in 2021, under a Government-to-Government (G2G) agreement led by the Israel Ministry of Defense, the Czech Republic became the first NATO member state to procure a complete, end-to-end air defense system from Israel. Two of the four batteries procured are already in the Czech Republic, with production of all batteries completed and adapted to the country's military requirements and to NATO standards.
The program, which is evolving into a comprehensive and integrated air defense capability for Czech skies, reflects the Ministry’s strategy, which views defense exports as a central pillar in strengthening the IDF's force build-up, advancing foreign policy objectives, and driving growth in the defense industries and the Israeli economy.
