Israel MOD Marks Start of Production for New 'Reshef' Naval Vessels

18/2/2025

The Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD), the Israeli Navy, and Israel Shipyards marked the beginning of the ‘Reshef’ ship production process with the traditional steel cutting ceremony.
Under the agreement, valued at approximately $780M (NIS 2.8B), Israel Shipyards will supply the Israeli Navy with five advanced 'Reshef' multi-mission vessels, developed in collaboration with the Israeli Navy. These vessels incorporate the most advanced weapon systems and innovative technologies from Israel's defense industry.
The first 'Reshef' vessel is expected to be delivered to the Israeli Navy in approximately three and a half years, as the new class prepares to replace the veteran 'Nirit' Sa'ar 4.5-class ships following their four decades of service.
